Post Purchase Nondeliquency, Financial Management, Rehabilitation, Reverse Mortgage SCC Counselors assist in avoiding mortgage delinquencies by researching mortgage programs that offer a lower monthly payment with a stable loan at a low rate. Other options available for those homeowners that owe more on the mortgage than the value of their home.
Resolving or Preventing Mortgage Delinquency Counselors are available to provide you with the information and assistance you need to avoid foreclosure. As part of former President Obama’s comprehensive Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan (HASP), you may be eligible for a special Making Home Affordable loan modification or refinance, to reduce your monthly payments and help you keep your home.
Counselors can assist homeowners who are facing a major financial hardship which could lead to a foreclosure, by working with their lender to get a loan modification sometimes called a mortgage modification. Counselors can assist clients to start a workout plan or restructuring one on which all change the terms of the mortgage loan to be able to afford the payments.
Housing staff member will do an intake and assessment. After evaluation a research is conducted to find an affordable and safe place for clients. The Rental Housing program provides information on rent subsidies to afford privately owned rental housing to low-income families. SCC will set up appointments with participating landlords that rent out property to low-income families. There are many landlords across the country participating in this program to offer low-income families an opportunity to choose housing outside of public housing.
SCC makes contact with the nearest shelters to locate a safe place for clients.
SCC offers workshops that provide an understanding on how to manage money, budgeting within current income, investment options, (turn it into more money) and when to start making donations to help others.
Many Illinois homeowners are still applying to the Hardest Hit Program in order to keep their homes. SCC Housing Counselors assist clients to learn about the program and assist in filling out the online application for prompt eligibility.
Spanish Community Center charges reasonable and customary fees for housing counseling and education services, including pre-purchase, reverse mortgage rental, and non-deliquency post-purchase counseling services, provided certain conditions are met: An intake and assessment will take place to determine the affordability income level, detailed information will be available in advance of providing services, and fee must be proportional with level of services requested.
