Immigrant Family Resource Program

The Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP) is a state sponsored program designed to ensure that low-income immigrant families and other limited-English speaking persons are able to thrive by reducing barriers when seeking public benefits they are eligible for (nutritional, medical, housing, psychological, childcare, employment), as well as the cash support they need for proper health, well-being, and economic self-sufficiency.

Our IFRP staff is happy to provide you with following quality services in both English and Spanish

  • Provide referrals and assistance with accessing other safety net programs for persons not eligible for IDHS-administered benefits

  • Case counseling services through one-on-one meetings with immigrants and/or immigrant families to determine their needs

  • Assist clients in applying for/accessing appropriate programs

  • Mediate with IDHS as needed to ensure receipt and maintenance of IDHS-administered benefits

  • Applications for healthcare, food, and cash assistance benefits

    • -Medicaid

    • -SNAP

    • -TANF

    • -WIC

  • Application for child support and child custody

  • Application for SSI

  • Application and renewal for unemployment benefits

  • Written and verbal translations and interpretations

  • Renewal for Medicaid and SNAP
