Spanish Community Center is recognized by the Department of Justice to assist participants with immigration proceedings, and our Director of Citizenship and Immigration, David Flores, is an accredited representative.  
In the United States, only attorneys and Department of Justice accredited representatives can provide legal advice and services about immigration.  This makes Spanish Community Center a unique resource in Will County that can provide quality legal advice at nominal fees.

Our center’s immigration and naturalization services serve all nationalities and countries of origin. We are a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service Community Based Organization and are registered with the Illinois Attorney General for Immigration Service.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it free? Although our services are not free, they are nominal fees and no families are turned away.

  • Am I eligible for a fee waiver? Please schedule a consultation with us and we can review if you are eligible for a fee waiver.

  • Do you also help with Asylum? We do not have staff with this expertise, but we can help you research and connect to resources that help with that.

  • Do you also help with Pardons? We do not have staff with this expertise, but we can help you research and connect to resources that help with that.

  • Does your Immigration Department have Attorneys? No, however we are recognized by the Department of Justice to assist participants with Immigration proceedings and have Accredited Representatives who assist with Immigration applications and petitions.

  • Can I walk in without an appointment? Yes, although wait times can vary.

  • What if I do not have a valid ID or address? Please come and we can assist you in getting appropriate identification.

  • What are your hours? 9am-5pm, although later appointments can be made when you call in advance.

  • Where are you located? We are located at 309 N. Eastern Ave. Joliet, IL 60432. Please note that our main entrance is through the Franklin St. parking lot and we are on the second floor of the building.
