We Count 2020

Responding to the Census!

The U.S Constitution requires that everyone living in the United States is counted every 10 years.

$219,528,000

is at stake in Will County alone if we don’t get a complete count in the 2020 census

Data from the Census is the cornerstone of our democracy – it determines:

Representation

The appointment of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Redistricting

How district lines are drawn at all levels of government.

Funding in our Community

Census data also guide the allocation of more than $800 billion in federal funding to programs that are crucial to the well-being of families, including those affecting health, transportation, education and housing.
